Johan Jordaan on Sinthesis Media: 'On Arcotix'- PART 1

  SliCe | SinThesis Media:  What's behind the name? What inspired the label and what is it's aim, ultimately in the scene with all the upcoming productions?

On Arcotix:

Seeing as though  I am a producer, it only came naturally that I would choose something along the lines of the instrument or rather piece of equipment that I use on a daily basis but this was not enough as all of my creative energy went into writing music at the time so I was pretty much out of ideas as to what to call the company...

 Eventually I came to realise that if the name itself didn't have any significance then there would be no other alternative but to halt any and all concepts which I was working on at the time. Clear as daylight, only then did it hit me... I thought... synthesis... that's like manipulating sound or forming sound so what if we put a bit of a sharp edgy twist to it and make it sin which may also be defined as a virtue to stir things up a bit... 

I know that there is not one person that hasn’t ever sinned in this world and it became more imminent that the name itself would be the stepping stone to the driving force of what people will ultimately know and refer to as ‘Sin-Thesis Media’

Thesis basically means; an accumulation or compilation of information therefore, what better way would there be to describe yourself and your life's work? Media; meaning Communication by Publication or Broadcast.

It's a Sinners Thesis... 

SIN > Virtue
THESIS > Composition
MEDIA > Communication by Publication or Broadcast

SliCe | SinThesis Media: What can we expect in the future and where is the label headed? 

On Arcotix:

What to expect in the future...  We have the highly anticipated 'On Arcotix' album that's been burning to be released world wide but can only be completed and will only be completed once Mr. Shane Harnette a.k.a 'Dr. Iconcer'n returns to South Africa for it's completion. I refuse to finish the tracks without him being present as it's a very personal project and very close to my heart. 

Not to even mention the mountains of praise, love and respect I have for the man as a person and as a member of SinThesis Media... He is truly one of the rarest and truer friends out there hey! (Love you my bru if you are reading this! Whooohoooo PELLLLEEEEEEEEETTTTSSSS my bru...)

That's not all; we are working hard at promoting not only the scene but other genres of music at both the local and international level. Ultimately it will never seize to amaze me how often or how many changes a company endures over the years... Both good and bad obviously, but our most important project at the moment is the "Future Festival" which is taking place across 3 major South African cities during the month of June 2013.
